Popped open my hood and saw a random hole in my insulator.

it seems to be just above this fill cap, but I have doubts it was caused by that. It almost seems like something chewed its way out? I’m not sure.

do y’all think it’s worth getting replaced?

I doubt that hole will have any effect on anything.

Try a couple pieces of black Gorilla tape to temporarily patch it up, then keep an eye on it.

X2 for mice. If you are leaving it for prolong times you might want to consider putting open mothball bags under the hood.

I'd be more concerned about the pixelation under your hood.

Funny thing is this was a “certified” pre owned model. Likely something that happened before the car was in my possession. I’ll see if it returns after patching it up. There’s a bunch of stray cats in this neighborhood, so I hope they’re patrolling my house for wild rodents :-)

so did Lexus certify my car to have mice? Lol

cabin filter area looked ok when I DIYed an A/C treatment (preventative, these cars can get musky ACs if you don’t treat it enough)

engine bay looked ok outside of normal particles which I cleaned up with a rag. Hmm

Doubt it would cause any problems. If it was me, and just for the sake of neatness, I'd make a suitably sized thin disc out of heat resistant repair putty, and stick that over it.

mice are extra.....dealer upgrade.

I have never had the issue but I have heard that mice can be a real problem, esp with wiring gremlins.

Good luck. Hope that you figure out what caused it.
