Please help someone figure it out. A very strange sound comes from under the hood. Knocks when you go and with the same interval, regardless of the speed or engine speed. Disappears when braking or accelerating. I think it could be the throttle or EGR valve, but the sound is loud. I can not understand. It's clearly something the computer controls, since the rhythm has nothing to do with speed, engine rpm, or load.
You really need in person investigation. If some one sitting miles away can diagnose, they would be guessing. What are the odds of their diagnosis being right?
Open the hood and remove the engine cover. Use your ears and triangulate by stereoscopic listening. You can also touch various parts to sense the noise. Just use care and don't get caught in moving parts and HOT parts.
The problem was found, but it's too late. The bearing collapsed, but after a while the ball fell out of it and hit the differential, as a result, two teeth were broken from the differential gear. I ordered a kit 4131048901 and I will change it soon.
How many miles were on your RX when this happened? What year is it? Is it FWD or AWD? Is this a hybrid RX450h? Or a RX350? The part number you listed is for a hybrid.
Had the transmission fluid ever been changed?
Why not get a used transaxle? There should be many available.
