Default Window Belt Replacement?

Hi Everyone, new to this forum so did a quick search before posting this. The window weather strips/belt on my RX 3rd Gen has started to fail, it no longer removes the external rain droplets/moisture condensation effectively when I roll the window down. I think I need to replace the entire strip. I have the part numbers to hand but need some help in figuring out how to take the old molding off without snapping anything.in he process

Would anyone know how easy this would be or if they might know where I can look to understand how to do this? I've checked all the usual outlets youtube forums google etc but couldn't find anything to help me.

Thanks
Remi

Welcome to CL.
That is not something that is often, maybe, never replaced in normal circumstances. The fact that you could not find any data was a sign. You could try cleaning them thoroughly then using some rubber weatherstrip refresher-restorer recommended on one of the detailing sites. This is at best a minor issue. You could also try treating your windows with a rain water repellent such as Rain-X or Aquapel.
I would consider going to a few body shops for estimates to replace them as they will know how it is done and what is involved.

You can look into replacing them if you want to, but you can also just leave it alone.
It's not hurting anything, that plastic strip at the bottom of your window is not meant to seal the water completely. Rain water dripped inside your door panel since your car was brand new. The engineers designed a way for the water to drain from your door panels.
At least that's how I understand it.

I agree with treating the rubber strips with an appropriate product in an effort to help preserve them. I have used Sylglide for decades to treat exterior rubber bits. Works for me.

Fair point re leaving it alone and treating it using alternative methods, at each strip worth around £70 probably not the most economical use of funds as well.
