New RX owner here, question about equipment
Hi Everyone,
I just inherited a 2010 RX350, AWD (79k miles). It's a welcome step up from my 2005 Acura MDX (178k miles), feels like way more than only five years newer. I've tried to research the different packages and equipment levels that were originally offered, and it looks like so many options were offered a la carte that one option's presence doesn't necessarily mean an entire package was included. For example, this RX has 19" wheels but from my research I can tell that those were a standalone option. Is there any way I can tell if my RX has VDIM/the sport suspension?
Also, this RX has a speaker grill cover in the rear left of the cargo area - is that a sub, and if so does it mean I have the 12 speaker upgrade (I don't see any Mark Levinson lettering on the front radio unit but I do see tweeters by the rear door handles)? If it's the 12 speaker unit, any recommendations on sound settings for optimal listening?
Also, how can I tell if it has the pre-collision system?
TIA!

From memory...
I believe VDIM was only offered on the RX450h for 2010. The RX350 only had the standard electronic stability control system.
The speaker in the back is a sub-woofer. If it doesn't have the ML logo on the dash (which I think had 15 speakers), I believe the 12 speaker setup was used with nav equipped, and 9 speakers for the non-nav versions. I have the 12 speaker in mine, and I've found that good content sounds good regardless of the sound settings (good signal FM stn or BT or direct connected device with HQ sound files), and poor content (bad FM, AM, Sat Radio, highly compressed sound files on devices) sounds poor regardless of the sound settings.
That wasn't much help, was it
Also, I believe the advanced pre-collision system (the one with the front looking sensor) was only offered beginning with the 2011 model. Did it arrive along with the radar cruise control?
