Default Garage Door Opener Problems

I have a 2013 RX350 that I purchased new. I have had 2 different garage door openers programmed in the system with no problems. I moved into a new home 2 years ago with new garage door openers and programmed them in the car. No problem, but in the last 3 months I have opened the garage door to back the car out and before I start the car the garage door starts to close. I have almost backed into the garage door 3 times, which would have been expensive if I had hit it. Thank goodness for the back up sensors. I have cleared the programming out of the car 5 times and reprogrammed it into the car and it would work fine for 2 or 3 days. Then it will start all over again. After a lot of deduction I have finally figured it to be in the driver's seat of the car. When i open the garage door and then get in the car and before I can start the engine the garage door starts to close. Has this happened to anyone else in their Lexus and what have you done to correct the problem?

If you aren't touching the remote opener button at the time, this sounds more like a fault with the garage door itself or the opener safety system. It may be detecting a resistance to motion and automatically reversing direction. Perhaps the garage door springs need adjustment and the opener is working too hard to lift the door. Pull the disconnect on the opener and see if the door is very heavy to lift manually.

And if you still have your garage door opener owners manual, check the "Troubleshooting" section for any significant details. Or look up the manual online.

Check to see if the portable remote isn't stuck between your seat and the center console. I can imagine that it fell out of our pocket once, and is jammed in there, and every time you sit you unintentionally squeeze it.

I did try the disconnect of the door. The door was very easy to lift up. On the wall unit, I checked to make sure there was nothing on the menu as an advanced setting to close the door if I had forgotten too. All was on the correct settings.
Thank you for your input and help.

I have gone over the troubleshooting of the manuals and nothing like this was in the troubleshooting part.

Thank you for trying.

My portable remote was in the console. I have actually cleared out all of the garage doors to the homelink system in the car. I have started using the portable remote, until I can figure something else out about the Homelink.

Thank you for your help.
