Default Splash shield fastener


Can someone explain the trick getting these removed from splash shield? Held top & used screwdriver but it never came off

Have you tried popping it off? That's the only way I think it will be removed, if the Phillip's slots do not work. What's on the other end?

Finally got it off, the white round sleeve looking thing fits over a black machine thread bolt. Not really sure exactly what I did to let it release. If I have to go by Lexus parts desk anytime, I will ask them.

It could be a cover (plastic) to protect from rusting. Black un-coated bolt versus a galvanized bolt, it is all about the cost.

I did not ..... since I was able to use the existing one, I did not have to go by dealership to try and find what part number that was. Let me know if you find anything.
