Seeking some info on RX350 Seats
This is going to be a shot in the dark...but I am hoping to gain some wisdom on the RX350 seats.
Long story short, my wife has the 2010 RX350. From the VIN, I gather that it was made in Canada.
For whatever reason, her front leather seats have completely ripped apart in the seating area. I started looking around for options to correct this.
What I have found so far is that some reason, seat cover replacements do not seem to extend to this car...and I have no idea why.
To get the seats reupholstered is about as expensive as the value of the car. I am simply not going to spend the cost of the car for that.
So it occurred to me....maybe just look for some good seats to swap out.
But now I am running into a whole new set of questions.
For example...what is the difference of a seat made in Canada vs made in Japan? Do they bolt different? Are the computer connects different?
And the list of options....OY...
So let's say that I am willing to consider seats that have different options than what she has now... Are these seats interchangeable like that or are the computer connections not going to allow this?
For that matter...... Am I stuck with just her year or can I expand out...if so..how far out?
If anybody has advice, I would love to hear it. Has anyone else run into this issue? If so, what did you do?
Can anybody answer the questions that I listed ......or possibly suggest something that I have not even thought of?
Thanks in advance

Your best bet is to find an auto upholstery shop and have then replace just the pieces that are bad . It wont cost
thousands of dollars. Maybe 300. or 400. a seat . probably less . They do this kind of stuff ever day.
Used seats are out there but not to easy finding them near you and one that haven't been exposed to the weather .
I would think 2010 to 2015 would be the same seat . Remember the air bags are in the seats and and changing them will need to have air bag service done .

These guys specialize in used Lexus parts and can answer all your questions. They may even have what you want.
FYI car recyclers have access to a database called Hollander that shows exactly what parts are interchangeable among different car models. http://www.rancholexusrecycling.com/
Also, on eBay you can buy used OEM leather seat covers that have been taken off wrecks. Again this will cost several hundred dollars.
This is the title of one I found "Driver Upper Replacement Cover Perforated Leather TAN For 2012 2013 Lexus RX350" This was $209 and the seller also had seat bottoms listed separately. You could buy them and either pay an upholstery shop to install them or do it yourself.
I would search 2010 Lexus rx350 perforated leather cover. I found quite a few using that search. They all seem to be from the same seller u.s.autoseatcover

Be aware that the leather quality in these 3rd generation RX models is substantially inferior to the leather that was in both of my wife's previous RXs (a 2000 RX300 and a 2004 RX330). If you decide to go with OEM leather replacements, you may find yourself dealing with the same issues down the road.
