2013 F Sport to replace totalled 2006
My Daughter's 06 RX330 was totaled this past weekend (no life threatening injuries) and after seeing how well it did it's job (air bags & crumple zones) there's no question we're sticking with what works. Found a 2013 RX350 F Sport with higher mileage for the year (120k) but I'm not really concerned as it's in a rural area and likely mostly highway. Added the vin to my Lexus Owners acct and everything looks good, no customer complaints, all maintenance appears to have been done consistently on-time.
Looking for feedback with any 2013 year gotchas to be aware of. I generally look to see if the steering rack replacement has been done but not sure if that's as common with this gen or it's just a matter of time, which I'm fine with.
Here's a pic of the 06. The tow guys said Volvo, Lexus, and Porsche are the vehicles that they see people walk away from that were in serious accidents.

Sorry about the accident and glad your daughter is OK!!! Very glad to hear that the vehicle did it's job well in protecting those inside. Sorry I dont have any feedback on your question on a 2013. My wife and I bought a CPO 2015 last year and she loves everything about it. I hope you find a good one!

I don't have any info to provide either on common issues with the 2013. However, we did the same sort of thing a couple of years ago after our 2008 400h was totaled in an accident with a crew cab Silverado -- which was also totaled. Considering how well the 400h did and that I walked away without any injuries we immediately replaced it with a 2015 450h. The Silverado hit the driver side of our RX just in front of the front door but the rear quarter panel was also damaged because the RX rotated from the impact and there was a secondary impact.

I'm sorry for your daughter's loss and glad that everyone is safe. I hope she comes out of this traumatizing experience stronger!
I currently own a 2013 RX350 F-Sport. I'll list a few things that might be important. Please feel free to reply with more questions:
All the best..
I currently own a 2013 RX350 F-Sport. I'll list a few things that might be important. Please feel free to reply with more questions:
- Steering system is superior. It's electronic so no steering pump, oil, hoses, etc.
- Suspensions are tuned differently than the regular RX350, I think it can be described as "stiffer" at the rear seat. If you let someone drive and sit at the back you will be able to get the feel of the rear struts. This is such a simple and affordable job to do it yourself even with going genuine (less that $80/pair) and it takes a couple of hours to complete.
- The 8 speed transmission gives smoother shifting experience and saves fuel especially on the highway.
All the best..

How long have you had your F-Sport and how many miles are on yours?
I have a regular 2015 RX350 and love it. Had it since new and just cracked 29k miles.

I'll keep it simple--
If your daughter lives in an area with decent road, the F sport with stiffer suspension would be a very good ride. Feels very planted on tight corners and all around a very reliable vehicle. However, if she lives in an area with ****ty roads--like myself (NYC), the ride can become quite jarring after a period of time. Minor road imperfections and bumps are not an issue, but we have potholes and missing chunks of road everywhere and that can really take a car for a ride with the stiffer suspension. Highway wise, it's pretty fking awesome with the paddle shifters.
I had mine for over 2 years now going on 3. Only maintenance so far are oil changes, rear shock and front strut. I did changed out the rear diff and transfer case though as a preventative.

2013 F sport myself with over 120k now and no complaints. Love it more each day. Keep up with standard maintenance items and it'll treat you great like most any other Lexus!

Mine has only 30k miles (48k km) and so far nothing was needed other than engine oil every 10k miles and brake fluid flush that I completed last month at a Toyota dealership.

I just bought the 2013 RX350 F-Sport w/120k miles. All in all it drove normally and no real items to complain about. Typical wear around the exterior door handles, will need tires this year and possibly brake pads, but everything worked as expected so I took a shot. Key for me was all maintenance was documented at Lexus. The lot was asking $17k + $345 dealer fees and we settled at $16,600 total.
Here's the car at the lot: https://www.championmotorsnh.com/use...d6691790ad.htm

Congratulations!!
The pictures are good for the mileage. I'm glad you have all the service records from Lexus. This is a great assurance more than the mileage imho!
It would be beneficial to go through the required scheduled maintenance at this mileage and compare it to the maintenance records.
Also, check the belts condition, fuel consumption (spark plugs), test the alignment while driving, brake fluid moisture content and finally the oils.
