Default Winter Driving

No injuries at all is the most important feature. No bags deployed might be a saving grace if the structure isn't tweaked too, too much. Maintenance aside,we've spent just under $600.00 CDN in repairs (1) since we bought it used in 2012. 134K Km (83K miles) & not a mark on it. Good cleaning & wax & the paint still popped. We were hoping to get another 1-2 years out of it but will get the verdict from the insurer early next week. Impact area appears to be above the concealed bumper & we left our share of plastic bits on the road. The hood is pushed over to the RH side a bit, hopefully just tweaked the hinges.
Driver ahead of Jane was turning off to the left. Driver decided, however, not to use the separate turn-off lane & stop short in the thru traffic lane. Jane reacted in time but black ice turned in into a sleigh ride for her.

Great that everyone is safe. Seems like a new bumper is needed. Hood and fenders look untouched. Grand or two will get it fixed. All replaceable.

Had a better look at it this morning with daylight. Bumper cover, grille & headlight destroyed. Headlight washer on one side as well as the bug deflector. Underlying parts I could not see were the supports for the grille & bumper cover. Battery tray looks OK Hood looks OK as does the fender. Hood hinges possibly bent.
I'm guessing $4 - $5 K to repair it which I believe will happen.

2016/2017 RX AWD with NAV, +/- 55K Km ( 30K miles) are sitting high $ 48-55K + HST(15%) locally.
What are they at in your area ?
