Knocking Noise?
Hello everyone,
First post here, just a quick background, I recently purchased a 2015 RX450h off a lease my father had, 60,000 km's (37,000 miles), he doesnt abuse his vehicle and keeps up with all maintenance. He had Lexus go over the whole vehicle to make sure he was handing me a solid vehicle. Its been about 2 months since ive owned it, put about 2000 km's on it. I dont drive much because of a company vehicle.
Recently I was driving and while I took my foot off the gas pedal there is a single knock that comes from the floor of the vehicle, I can feel & hear on the driver side floor and it is consistent while the vehicle is slowing whether I am using the brakes or not.
I have called Lexus to make an appointment, they told me my warrenty expired last week, which I am very disappointed with as if this is a major repair I am going to complain, on a company that prides them selves on reliability, these issues shouldnt be happening at such an early stage. But thats beside the point.
Any ideas on what this could potentially be?

First things that occur to me are motor mount, transmission mount, exhaust mount. However your mileage is low for those to usually fail. Maybe it is a brake or suspension issue.
This kind of thing needs to be visually inspected to make an accurate diagnosis. If Lexus gives you an expensive repair quote, I would get a second opinion from an independent shop.
Remember that the Hybrid drive train and battery have a separate 8 year, 150,000 mile warranty. Look in the manual to see what is included as part of the hybrid drive train before going to the dealer.

Great thanks for the reply, the powertrain warrenty is still in effect, I have an appointment for Monday for them to take a look. I am going to drive it to tonight to try and get some more specifics.
Good luck with the diagnostic work. Be very very aggressive about finding the issue. Past experience with Lexus dealership is they don’t want to do any sort of diagnostic work when warranty is involved.
I literally had to point to the damaged parts for their technician to see it when they had it up on a lift.
