You can always put a timer on it .. 3 hrs a day

I really can't believe we are having this discussion. Smart chargers have been around for years not only for cars but NiCD and NiMH batteries too. A smart charger can be plugged in and left unattended for a long time. It works just as Htony describes. Geez, just buy a smart charger for thirty bucks and be done with it.

I have a $4.99 trickle charger and many dumb on/off timers. You make do with things at hand.
