Default Climate Control Issue

Hi Everyone

First post and long time lurker here. We just got our first Lexus, 2014 RX350 w/ only 20k km, and as expected it drives great. However we notice the climate control system turns on by itself when I start the engine. I have the habit of turning everything off before I shut off the car. It happens randomly, and I imagine it will be difficult for Lexus service to catch this, so is this normal?

Thanks

Lexus uses pretty elaborate air conditioning system and all you need to do is set the mode as Auto and set your temperature to your liking. It will turn off and on the compressor and direct conditioned (hot/cold) as it sees fit. System is very smart and knows how to disengage the compressor when the starter is trying to spin the engine up.

If you choose, you can take the system out of "Auto" mode and then manipulate it as you choose.

It means most of you don't turn off the climate control at all? I have multiple cars with auto climate control. When I press off, it should stay off I assume

I'd go as far as to say most never turn off climate control on a regular basis, be it auto or manual.
By off button, I assume you mean fan speed off.

I can only speak for myself, I would be wearing the button [come to think of it, it might be setting on the nav screen] down as the lows here are near 80's and high near 100s so the air conditioning has to stay on for practically all the time we drive here in central Texas. We just change the thermostat when the seasons change. Yes we get all the seasons with extended summer and short winter.
