Default Last Chance for 2015 RX

I intend on buying a used 2015 RX in the near future (as I detest the 2016 Spindle model), usually as a 3-year lease return. My guess is that the 2016 models were manufactured and available for sale starting November 2015.

Does that mean I have until November 2018 to pickup a 2015 model?

No. I just bought a 2015 RX last week, fresh off of lease w/ 34,500 miles. Start checking now. Mine is under warranty until June of 2021, unlimited miles.

Unlimited miles warranty, that's unheard of. What kind of warranty is it?

Be prepared to be blown away, that is the new terms of the Lexus CPO warranty. It really influenced my recent acquisition of a 2015 RX CPO. http://www.lexus.com/lcertified/certification-warranty

A timely comment for me as I've had a Gen4 dealer loaner for the past few days and I wasn't impressed, I like my 2015 Gen 3 better. The grill doesn't bother me, I like the size of the nav monitor, the small forward window design is better, and they have grid lines on the reverse screen. Otherwise, I like the styling of the Gen 3 more. To be fair, my car has almost all of the options and the loaner did not.

Yes, unlimited mileage warranty on Lexus L certified. I think it ends with 2 additional years AFTER THE ORIGINAL 4 YEARS. SO UNLIMITED FOR 6 YEARS!!!

Yes, higher optioned RX is truly a joy to drive or ride around. I have a fully loaded 2013 RX450h.

I missed it by a couple of months. The unlimited mileage warranty started JAN 1, 2016. I got my RCF October 31, 2015. 😞😕. But I think my mileage warranty goes to 100k as a L certified Lexus. I probably get another Lexus by then. Hopefully an LCF (IF AND WHEN IT COMES OUT!!!)

Agree with you about the front grill. Also have a 2015 RX450H we bought used. Will be keeping it for a very long time or until Lexus engineers sober up and redesign the front grill, eliminate the cheap black plastic around the wheel wells (looks like a RAV4), and eliminate the two tone seats. The black plastic front grill should not be the focal point especially on a light color car. If you go out to other sites like YouTube, Car & Driver etc. it is probably 9 to 1 against the front grill. Some of the comments are merciless.

I was not impressed with the 4RX loaner either. Same comments as above, more cheap materials, stand-alone screen, etc. Horrible gearbox programming, which I hear has been updated. No interest in buying one.

For what it's worth, I had a 2017 RX loaner while they were putting the hitch on my '15, and didn't like it at all. The trans did weird things when using cruise control on highway hills, and the gas pedal was touchy beyond belief (felt like it should in ECO mode, but normal and sport were like a hair-trigger). It was a FWD version, and mine is AWD, but I'm not sure how much that matters. Either way, I wasn't impressed with the 2017 at all. And my 2015 is a joy to drive, and pretty decent mileage, also.
