Transfer case on 2014 RX 350
I recently purchased a 2014 RX350 with 30k miles not certified from a Subaru dealership. I noticed whenever I go above 60 mph then press on the break to start slowing down the vehicle feels like I am going over small speed bumps. It was first suggested that I needed brake pads & rotors for the front. I had that installed & the problem started back after a week. It was then suggested it was the transfer case. I have never heard of a transfer case. I have an appointment with a Lexus dealership to check it but I wanted to see if any owners have had this problem.
If you have AWD, then there is a transfer case located next to the automatic transmission. However it is fully automatic in operation and just needs the fluid checked and then changed once in a rare while. I think the problem is now that your rear brake rotors are also warped or have pad build up that is causing the bump bump feeling when you brake. Or else, the new rotors are getting warped or have pad transfer already, but that is unlikely. I think the dealer will be able to sort it out as you still have lots of warranty left.
