Default Auto Climate control a learning system.

I have noticed lately that with my climate control system when in auto seems to learn the temperature inside the cabin based on outside temperature. For instance going to work in the afternoon and it's hot outside the cabin temperature will show 70 degrees. On the way home at night after it has cooled off the cabin temperature will show 73 degrees, and I have made no changes to the settings. So what I'm getting at is if I set the temperature at 70 degrees it will not stay at 70 degrees as it cools off outside it seems as if it is actually learned that it doesn't need to be as cold based on the outside temperature. Has anyone else ever noticed this?

I notice it in both my vehicles and they are not even set on auto. It is inconsistent. I never thought that it may be adapting to outside temperature to keep a constant differential or something like that.

I have done several searches but could not find out much except to make sure the cabin filter was installed while the AC was in recirculate mode because otherwise a flap is kept open that could affect temperature settings.

So over the last couple of days the temperature settings has stayed steady. So I'm really not sure what is going on.

It's not a "learning" system, but the auto mode is adaptable. The light sensor is used to adjust temperature "feel" because at one specific air temperature, sitting in strong sunlight will feel quite a bit warmer than total darkness.
