The Eruo and Asian model of the same years have the yellow lines ... not sure if they have the blue/grey steering wheel coupled lines or not.

vlad_a: Do you know the part number for the Camera _ECU of non USDM? I am almost sure the grids are part of the ecu and not the camera.

Salim, I'm fairly certain it is an overlay from ECU as well.
I have guidelines in my Audi, but I don't really care for them. I don't even notice that they turn with the steering wheel.
I use two side mirrors and the camera to back up.

Upgrading to Nav?
So if you don't have a Navigation system, and manage to buy a used one for your make/model, and install it, will the backup camera transfer to that? Is there any way to make that happen?

No that is not possible. And welcome to CL in case you ever post again.

No they can not be retrofit to the 2015's and earlier RX's.

Just as an aside, the fact that an identical car sold in Europe might have backup lines while the car sold in the USA doesn't is probably due to patent licensing issues.
As a somewhat-similar example, the Canon inkjet printer model (IS3000) that I've used for many years is quite sophisticated. It can auto-duplex (automatically print on both sides of the paper) and also print on CDs/DVDs. But the US printer has a plastic bar across the front slot where the disk would go. Why?--Because Epson held the patent back then for disk printing for the US, blocking Canon from offering that feature.
In this case, the solution was relatively simple: just take off the plastic bar and reload the US printer with the firmware meant for Canadian or Australian-bound printers. Been working great for years.
