The dealership can not hold your car.

You have a spare tire and the the right to purchase tires at another facility .

All you have to do is tell the dealership you are going somewhere else to buy a set of tires and give me my keys.

Do not let them scare you into paying more for tires than you have to.

Doubt it causes a balancing issue if you follow the instructions. As far as clean up that will be up to the next installer. Most probably won't charge anything extra, but if they did it would be nothing compared to the $400 of tire wear you are saving by not having to replace your tires early. Besides many manufactures just give you a fix a flat aerosol can instead of a spare.

...should be reported to Lexus and your state auto repair ombudsman and should never see your business again.
