Default Lease End Options

Hi all,

Our CT lease is up April 1st, 2016 and we are looking to get into a 2015 RX350 before the Colorado winter hits and also take advantage of attractive deals on the remaining 2015s.

I have contacted a few Lexus dealers and they say our lease payoff is about $3500 over the market value of our CT (very disappointing) if we wanted to trade in today. They offer to cover the remaining 5 payments (around $1800) and then take that amount out of the $2000 lease incentives from Lexus or the discount off MSRP they are offering.

I was wondering if there was a better lease end option for us to make the switch to the RX. Does Lexus offer pull ahead programs closer to the lease end date (maybe the last 3 months of our current lease)?

Any input would be greatly appreciated...

Don't do it. bad deal. Go to different Lexus dealer and try. Unless your CT has high mileage or bad condition. Trade-in vs market value shouldn't be $3500. That's 10% of the car original cost.

Dealer is probobly correct in his assessment of current value.

You can buy a nice 2013 CT200h premium for the low 20's.

I don't know what your payoff is but dealers don't want used CT's. I know this because I traded my 2012 in last month. They gave us $18.5k. Before putting it on their lot they put a new 12 volt battery, tires, alignment and fixed a small door dent/chip. They had it listed as a certified vehicle on their lot for $22k.

For example. here is a nice F-Sport CT for sale w/28k miles for sale for $20,788

Wait for your lease to expire and then deal.
