I have a 2011 RX 350, leaking coolant from head gasket. Anyone had same problem? It has 113000km, engine warranty is 110000km here in Canada, what chance Lexus will cover under warranty? Has anyone had it fixed under warranty?
That's a close one with respect to KM allowed. Any record of the engine consuming/leaking coolant prior to 100K?
Talk to your dealer if you use them for service.
Head gasket is usually a simple job. Gets complicated getting access to it.

"...Head gasket is usually a simple job..."
Boy do I feel old and out of touch with the vernacular.
Simple jobs to me are more like changing brake pads or adding a Kurt Hitch (and after how long it took me for the latter project, I'm no longer sure that I'd consider that job to be "simple" as it applies to me).

Removing a head on the engine is the simple part. Unbolt it, clean up the mating surfaces, re-install with a new gasket & carefully torque the bolts per spec. & correct sequence.
That's the simple part.
Gets difficult & you'll spend most of the $$ gaining access to the head with the engine still in the car. Everything in the way has to be disconnected, come out or moved off to the side.
Good luck trying to get it covered by warranty. They will be investigating how it came to an overheat situation to blow the head gasket in the first place. Did you buy the RX new or used? If used, you can do a little investigative work to see if the radiator has been replaced. It might be a tell tale sign that the previous owner over heated and the heat warpage is finally showing its ugly head during your ownership.
