Hummm. Interesting. Not attacking you or the brochure you're reading, but after a glass of wine with dinner a bit ago, just a (perhaps sarcastiic) thought comes to mind: With my 2013 built in Fukuoka, it has 12 miles legally documented here in the US at time of delivery, so perhaps testing procedures are different in later MYs or with non-US deliveries, or part of that test drive is done before the odometer is installed.

 

Bert, IIRC the test drive is mentioned in the video on Canadian built RXs. I can't see if being different for RXs built in Japan.

 

Here's a very intersting video on the manufacturing process of the RX350.

Search on YouTube for "Factory Made RX 350". At approximately 9 minutes 50 seconds into the video it says 5 cars are randomly selected each day for the 30 mile test drive. My new 2015 RX 350 had 2 miles on the odometer when I test drove it.

 

Thanks that was a nice video. I am looking for a nice mid size SUV and am leaning heavily toward a CPO RX so have been reading up on it.

 

Mine's Japanese and its saying 30 miles in my brochure. They probably just reset the odometer afterwards - it wouldnt be difficult for them to do - in fact, anyone here in the UK can reset the odometer except that its illegal lol.
