Well, I looked at a lot of cars this week. My husband says I've become a Lexus snob cause nothing else compares.
So (sigh) I guess I'll just have to learn to love the RT.
Ordering a 2015 next week.

I love Lexus but I really hate the Remote Touch so Ive been reserching other small SUVs.
Anybody have any suggestions? I haven't driven anything but a Lexus for 12 years and I am very nervous thinking of owening any other car.
My Husband drives a new GX and it certainly is a pleasure to drive but I need something a bit
smaller for day to day driving.
A lady friend just bought a 2014 Honda CR-V. I test drove it. it's peppy, has intuitive controls, gets 27mpg mixed, and handles nicely. If I were in the market for a car, this would be one of my choices.
You may want to wait until the fall and look at the Lexus NX. Looks like it might be a posh version of the Toyota RAV-4. I will be looking closely at those too. My '04 Highlander only gets 18 MPG mixed, and I'd like to get better.
Hope this helps.

Sandy. I know the feeling that once you get a taste of quality, it's hard to look elsewhere. I bought almost twenty vehicles in the last 15 years, I lost count. But among those, I've had Toyotas, Mazdas, Hondas, Acuras, Subarus, and of course Lexus (all imports BTW). Once I've tasted Lexus, it's been so hard to turn back. I buy Lexus because repeatedly since 1990, it's the best brand for quality, reliability, noise/vibration/harshness, and value. The luxury panache is a bonus for me.

BTW, don't be disappointed. Congrats on your new 15 RX! Which color/interior/equipment did you order?

Sandy,
Have you seen the new NX? You'll have to wait until the fall, though.

Everything you mentioned plus outstanding customer service. Free car washes ( unlimited) they have buffed out scratches , touched up paint, free all weather mats. All for no charge.
I met a very nice lady at the dealership. Her husband had replaced her Lexus LS with a new $100+K Mercedes for her birthday. She was back in 5 months trading it in for another LS.
There are a lot of nice cars out there with a lot of nice features but I know I would always regret leaving Lexus

Checkout a Lexus CX 300H.

sandy14, I'm inclined to tell you not to order the '15 given your comment above. What I'd suggest before you do is to sit down with the Lexus Technology Specialist to discuss your issues with Remote Touch. Maybe he/she has a workaround like using voice commands or can give you a level of comfort that you can live with. I'd hate to see you settle and be unhappy. Please keep us posted.

You're right. I am backing off a bit.
I'm thinking of waiting a month or two, just to be sure.
It's not that I can't use the RT. I just fell in love with the touchscreen on my husbands new GX.
It's so much faster and easier than remote touch. And as for voice commands, well, let's just say
The voice command lady has a serious problem with my TX accent.
Our salesman is also a good friend ( we've bought 5 cars from him) he's even come to my house to program my garage door opener way back when I bought my 2010 RX so I'm confident he'll help me make the right choice when the time comes.
I really do appreciate the response from all of you. It really helps to have the views of other Lexus owners.

Touch screens get greasy and don't stay clean. The recessed screen is nice in the RX because you don't get sun glare as you do with most unprotected screens.

I'll say what I said to another poster who had a current generation RX and was on the fence about buying another one - don't do it.

For substantially less money you could simply hold on to your 2010 which is 95% the same stuff as MY 2015 RX 350. Hold on to it for another year at least for the next gen RX to come out if you're really stuck on the Lexus brand. You won't be kicking yourself in a year when the new RX has features unavailable on the current generation. Additionally, if you set aside what would be your monthly payment on a new car and used that towards the down payment on a new car in year you'll essentially be gaining a 3-4% return on that money as you would be financing less of the car - if you were planning on paying cash in full then that return will obviously be less (assuming its invested risk-free).

Never buy the same car twice.

Sorry, no such animal. CT200h, yes. NX300h, yes. CX, no.
