Default Ding repair service not so good

I bought a ding service at the dealer when I bought my 2010. At a cost of $500 or so, I can take the car for a ding repair at the dealer. Well we moved to another state. The Lexus dealer here does not honor the ding repair certificate I got. I wrote to the ding company and never receive a reply. Lesson: Don't buy any ding repair service. It's next to useless.

$500. Ouch. No reason to buy such a service, as you can get dings repaired at $100 each without having to prepay for them. The finance guy must have gotten a nice commission off you.

I had a ding on the right front fender on the 2010 I had. We found a guy that fixed it for $40. Great job.

My advice; find out from a friendly SA when the ding remove person comes to their lot and stop in and he will do it for less than going to any "ding" shop! I had 2 hard ones removed for $140...he said if I had just left the car with the Lexus dealer, they would have added $50 and cost me $190!
Have never heard of a ding repair as an add on when buying!! Another scam they make tons of money off of, sadly!

Actually, I'm very pleased with my ding package. I bought it for 5 years with unlimited dings. They've already removed 4 in 3 years. I don't cringe in parking lots.

Me too! For peace of mind $500 for a $55K car is nothing. Two months after I got the car there was this BIG DING. It was removed right away by the dealer. When I park I am still very careful but some people just don't care.

My wife wanted the Ding Package when she bought her vehicle 3 years ago.....so far it's been easy to use. She likes the piece of mind, so be it. If you move out of the area the package won't be any good, but that's not the fault of the dealer or the ding company. Don't buy local package if you expect to be moving out of the area.
