I didn't see any Techstream threads for our car and I wanted to pool the knowledge from the community into one place. Let me start with the limited knowledge I have - I am hoping the experts can wow us from there.

What? Techstream is Toyota diagnostic software that can be used to diagnose issues, but apparently it can also be used to update the GPS maps, program car keys, and install remote engine start. The latest version is 8, but the software itself can only be procured through questionable means.

Who? CL experts please chime in on what else Techstream can do

Where? A 16 pin Mini VCI to USB cable can purchased from multiple vendors online and is used to connect to a port on the passenger(?) side of the car

How?
GPS: I would love to know how to update the GPS maps with the thumb drive! Here is what I could find from the LS forum:

My mini VCI to USB has a regular OBD2 port, goes under the drivers side. Once you hook it up it should recognize the vehicle such as make/model and VIN itself. Upon health check I noticed total of 37 ECUs being checked in my car. The GPS screen goes into diagnostic mode as well. I used it to only register my card key and it was very easy 1-2-3 process. I like the remote start option, however it wouldn't make sense to have it if I only carry the card smart key..
