Default Engine died on my 2013 RX

A couple of times I've made a hurried turn-around, like pulling in a driveway, backing out and going back in the direction I was originally coming from. The engine died both of these times. Thinking back on these two times I had the wheels turned to the left as I was backing up and maybe I accelerated a little extra to hurry up and beat oncoming traffic. I just had my 10k oil change and completely forgot to mention this to my SA. Should I report this or just let my wife drive all of the time?

I would mention it to Lexus service. Probably shouldn't be happening.

mac12, bring it back to the dealer. It's not something you want to happen again. Why take the chance? In the meantime don't do any quick turns.

It could be a wide variety of things. Could be dodgy petrol or even something more serious. It shouldnt be happening so just show them it as soon as possible.

Unless you think it will fix itself- Put it in the shop!

Can you be a little more specific on what you mean by "engine died?"

Did it actually shut down and require re-starting or did it "bog down" and then eventually "come back" allowing you to accelerate?

Yeah, it died both times. I think I'm going to turn around in some driveways around here and see if it does it again. If it does I'm definitely taking it to the shop. Thanks for the replies.

I've seen a seized blower stall a 2.3 I-4 on a small truck I had many years ago.
Had the engine rebuilt. On the way home turned the fan on. I would swear it was like someone just turning the key off. Locked rotor current too much of a load.

I would recomend taking the car in. If it happens again you may not have the luxury of no or little traffic. In any case at least u had it looked at by professionals.

If you have a 450h, it's normal for the engine to shut down sometime.

If you have a 350, then that's a major safety issue.
