Eco mode GREEN does not switch off - HELP.
Hi, RX450h owner from Europe here. Just purchased used 2010 model and today with first hot weather discovered climate control not really working well in eco mode.
After long search found the button which switched ECO mode off in multi information display
BUT
the green ECO word still kept displaying on Hybrid system Indicator.
So now I am confused, do I still have ECO mode on or not? And how can i get that green ECO message of my hybrid meter?
Best,
Jake66

There are two lights on the dash for ECO, one is for ECO Mode and one is for when you are driving in ECO range (The middle two sectors on the hybrid gauge). ECO mode light will be on only when the vehicle mode is set to ECO on the M.I.D. The other ECO light will always turn on when driving within the ECO range of the hybrid meter and has nothing to do with the ECO mode setting. You can get a dealer to reprogram the system to not have this light come on, but it is not a driver customization setting.

No, I don't play soccer!
Welcome to CL, Jake66. Some people have resorted to placing black tape over the eco light to make it disappear. Eco mode is the light below it and stays on all the time when it's set to on. You'd definitely feel the difference in the gas pedal if it's truly on.

there is the eco light which is shaped like a leaf. It doesnt change anything about the car but just means you are driving eco friendly when lit. You can turn off the light by holding down the menu button on the steering wheel and another menu pops up in the instrument cluster. Use the up and down lever on the steering wheel to navigate towards turning it off.
The "eco mode" light is the one that changes climate behavior and can be turned off by pushing the menu button on the steering wheel once and then finding the selection.
