considering the Rx 350 F sport
Hi... wondering if the 8 speed transmission is new to lexus? Just concerned about new model problems/bugs. Should i bet concerned?
Also wondering if people think the car will hold resale value better than the regular Rx350?
thanks so much... learning a ton on this forum.

The pursuit of F
I remember reading somewhere the 8-speed tranny is based on a mix of LS/ISF tranny. Beside the tranny, firmer suspension, and cosmetic differences, mechanically/electronically, it's the same as the standard RX 350. As for resale, hard to say as it's new but since it is still an RX, yet a more exclusive model, I expect it to retain the same if not slightly higher value (percentage-wise) than a standard RX especially since the F-Sport brand over the last 14 months has elevated Lexus to new sporting heights as a serious contender to the Germans with the intro of the GS F-Sport.
I bought a CT the same month it was released (March 2011) and the RX F-Sport just 4 months after it was released, both as brand new models. No issues either of them. Lexus reliability is consistently at the top, I would not worry about it for one sec. Go for it if you like the F-Sport and for what it's worth, wife an I love it with no regrets and many F-Sport owners feel the same way.
Here's a nice read of the F-Sport from Car & Driver: http://www.caranddriver.com/photos-1...s-photo-494420
