Default Liftgate support

It's time to replace our liftgate supports. Retail is over $200 per strut. Never seen struts that expensive, ever. Local auto parts stores don't have any offerings. Anyone know where to get some at maybe under 100 a piece? Thanks for any info.

Try Sewell with your CL discount for a better price. You may have to email or call. They've provided a lot of people here with better pricing than your local dealer if you want OEM parts.

FWIW, strut prices are outlandish. For my previous RX300 they were something like $140 each in the early 2000's, and over that for my SC430 when I had to replace them 4-5 years ago.

thanks. Sewell was the first place I looked after failing to find an aftermarket source. Still a bit over $100 per unit. Just in "shock" because I never had to replace them on my old Rx330 even after 95k miles, replaced my GMC rears 2 months ago (after 10 yrs) for $25 a piece. Got 70k for the 10 RX350 so it's out of warranty. Sigh... wouldn't be a warranty item anyway (wear & tear)

To confirm your research, have not seen anything in the way of aftermarket for the 3rd Generation RX to date either.

Yes, I know. Big bucks. I'm a pretty low-mileage guy, so I was fortunate and one was replaced under warranty on my RX300 and both under extended warranty on my SC430 way back when. :-) Good luck!

It's covered under EW. So it should be covered under basic warranty.
