Went into garage and heard a mechanical humming from under the rear end of my new RX350. It had been about 8 hours since I drove it. I started the engine and backed out and then in again and turned it off. Noise did not start again. I assume it is a fuel pump. I had a toyota hybrid, so know that hybrids have pumps activate at unusual times but this is not a hybrid.
Couldn't find anything to document why this would occur.
I had searched the online version of manual with phrase - fuel pump , noise etc ...nothing came up. The link was reassuring. My wife had been reading the 1500 pages of the manuals to me. I'm a product of the Newark/Irvington school system from 50 years ago.... so I need someone to remind me to look at the instructions.
Joe, no biggie. Next time you can try searching this forum by clicking on "Search this thread" tab. I did it using your key words 'fuel pump' and found this along with a few others. The forum has been around for over four years now so chances are you might find your answer right here. No reading of instructions required and it's discreet too
