Default Parking Assist problem

Hi,
I've had my 2013 RX350 for about 3 months now. We live in New Hampshire. Yesterday we were doing city driving (about 20-30 miles per hour). It was snowing pretty hard. All of a sudden, I get a Parking Assist warning as if I am within a foot of an object in front. There wasn't any cars on any side within 3-4 car lengths.

Could there be issues with the Parking Assist system in the snow.? I ignored the warning and kept driving, but it happened about a few minutes later. So I turned of the system until I got home.

Has anyone else in snowy conditions experienced this situation? Can the PA sensors be confused by snow on the front bumper?
Thanks in advance,
Steve

The sensors send a beam to sense proximity. If your bumper (and sensors) are covered in snow, you just need to turn them off till the the snow on them is gone. They're doing their job and telling you you're about to 'SLAM' a snow flake .

Yes, seconding what Jim said - I had the same thing happen myself yesterday morning when we had some light snow. The only remedy is to turn off IPA until the weather is cleared up.

Thanks for the reply. Now I understand. I feel better that its not something wrong. In the future, I'll just turn off the system when driving in snow.
thanks,
Steve
