It is tough to answer this question without knowing what is wrong with the door. What is the defect? The last thing I would do is take a door off a new car.

The dealer send my car to body shop twice, that's the condition after they fix.

I agree. Completely unacceptable body work, if that's what it's called.

looks like "defect" wasn't really a defect but instead a damage the dealer fixed before/after the sale. technically you bought a damaged good knowlngly or dealer wasn't upfront with repair.

you should contact Lexus if dealer wasn't upfront about the damage but if you knew of the damage and received extra discount, you be better with a donor door from a loader RX. looks like the repair was full "skin" replacement done poorly.

did they disclosed the repair? was it CPO? door definately has been repaired and you can't really argue if it was CPO. But if it was "new", you should contact Lexus ASAP and demand a new replacement.

rx2012, I would push for a new door too unless that demo hasn't been put in service yet. After all you have a new car. I can't believe the dealer gave the RX back to you looking like that. They should be ashamed of themselves. Raise hell. Good luck and let us know what happens.

In the US vehicles damaged (i.e. during transport) can be fixed and sold as new without disclosure. No protection here

That looks terrible. No problem getting a new door here.

There is no way that I would swap out a door for these relatively minor defects. A new door will mean new paint on big portion of your new car. I would have just fixed this myself. If I was you, I would just fix it now yourself. It might not be right or fair, but at least you would not screw up your new car.
