2012 RX450H Bluetooth issue
FWIW, I have a 2013 RX450h with iPhone 4 running iOS 5.1.1 and have no issues being described thus far in this thread. It's far better than the Bluetooth connection to the same phone in my previous RX400h. ...I should add though, my iPhone is the only one being used with the truck.

2012 RX350 with no issues still. One iPhone 4S on 5.1.1 and one 4 on 5.1.1/jailbroken.
Both connect/disconnect on demand without issues. Whichever one is in the car connects automagically every time. If both are present the most recently connected gets the nod.

I have 4s, just purchased RX 400h. I have successfully connected the Bluetooth to the car and am able to make/receive phone calls, but can't seem to transfer my phone directory. I can get as far as the Data Transfer screen, but the Overwrite/Add transfer method screen never comes up. Instead it automatically disconnects the BT connection. Any ideas?

Welcome to the forum. Unfortunately, this is going to be problematic for you in a RX400h which is for the most part 2006 technology (and has relatively early bluetooth support and therefore limits what is possible with more recent phones) under the covers. I had one until just this year and loved it, but my iPhone was not technically supported for all functions and let out a wild squeal every time I dialed using it through my truck. Try this site for more info http://lexus.com/lexus/mobilelink/ and specifics including what is supported depending on the exact MY, phone and if you have Nav or not.
Good luck!

Right. 2006 phone connectivity is much more limited than we'd expect for a current MY. My 2006 also would not show name consistently on 1-touch numbers. You'll also find that when you're driving, you can still use the 1-touch numbers, but they will look completely blank so I had to memorize which was which if I wanted to call while driving down the road -- Lexus has made things like that a bit better with current years showing them as "grayed out" items when they can't be selected while you're going over 2-3 (or whatever it is) MPH.
Good luck with your Bluetooth pursuit and enjoy that RX! Mine was really solid and excellent for me.
