Default Loud Clunk In Rear

I am taking my 450h to the dealer on Tuesday to look into this but thought I may get some ideas here.

I am experiencing a loud cluking sound in the rear when I go over small bumps. It sounds what I imagine it would sound like if the spare tire was not secured. However, I removed the spare and its cover from the vehicle and still get the clunk.

It only seems to do it when going over small bumps (manhole covers, road cuts, large expansion joints, etc) with the right wheels. Some riders feel the sound follows the right side of the car to the rear.

I first noticed it when leaving a rest stop on I-81 in Virginia. As I went over the expansion joints I heard it and thought that the rear hatch was not secured. I stopped and all was as it should be!

I have no idea how the rear motor is secured so I don't know if that could be an issue. Has anyone experienced something like this?

On the 450h, the 12V standard battery is located under the lift-up floor in the back. It is to the left of the spare tire. It is the smallest 12V battery that I have ever seen in a car. If it is not secured down, it might make the sound you are describing.

I read somewhere on this forum, it has something to do with the shocks or arms in the back.

Maybe something left in some compartments unattached of not correctly fixed up and when going over bumps this is shocking the car body.
Look at these compartments first and try again?

Look also at the rear seats, maybe not correctly stable as they can move along the notched rail

The problem was a leaking rear shock. Replaced under warranty
