Default Treating Rubber Door/Window Seals with..............

...........Silicon spray.

Try it, works great.

Keeps them all flexible and water proof.

I use any good silicon in a spray can once a year around all
my door/window/ and moon roof rubber seals.

Silicon is supposed to be one of those magic elixir's. Like in New Orleans where folks use spam on the front of their cars to keep the love bugs from sticking . I keep mine in the garage except when I'm driving it so weathered seals are not that big a problem for me. But I can see where silicon could be useful.

I've actually heard that before, thanks for the reminder!

Another good use for dry silicone lube is on your rubber window moldings to keep them soft and pliable. Armorall works well, IF you buff it off after a few minutes. After a few years some owners have had difficulty with moldings dragging against the glass and triggering the "stop" feature caused by high amperage on the window lift motors and a little lubricant helps a lot. Another tip that will help your windows work smoothly is to use Rain-X, particularly on older RX models that don't share the OEM "water-repellant" coating on the glass. In addition to beading up rain on the glass, it will keep the glass slick, particularly in the window channels, and easier for the power window motors to operate.

At the same time I'm not a fan of the Rain-X product for interior windows because I can NEVER wipe it clear. I think it contains a bit of glycerine as an anti-fog treatment, that is almost impossible to buff off.

Try Stoners Glass care for the interior windows. It does not leave that haze that looks like you were smoking in the car on the windows.

Agreed. I use their Invisible Glass on my windows. I've tried a lot of products (I HATE the Rain-X cleaner) and Stoners works the best with a MF rag.

I have to try the silicone trick. I'm putting some on my wife's C70 seals to try and help with some squeaks so might as well hit the RX with it as well.
