If there was an F-Sport RX...

This is an extreme example, but if I were to show this to my wife, or any woman in the market for an RX....I think they would be turned away from Lexus forever. But by all means, let's create something that 16 people are going to buy.

Gotta love his comment about "un-mommifying" it.... /whistlinginthewind

That is why the f series would only be a option. The women or normal demographic will still be getting what they always have, but maybe the lexus rx will get a little more draw with the younger male demographic if there is a f series package. It sounds like a win win senario. By the way, my wife loves the look of my rx and thinks it was a large improvement.

No, I don't play soccer!
King, I can't say I'd go to the extreme you did. But I would in fact go for an RX-F if it became available. I'd prefer something a bit more sporty and dare I say masculine. Obviously I'm not into the mushy ride since I opted for sport over luxury.

I agree mine is probably more extreme than a lot of people would like, but I think there could be a compromise somewhere in the middle for a f series. Its funny, when my wife was looking for a new chrystler 300, she had her choice of any on the lot and she ended up liking the s- series one the best with the larger rims and carbon fiber interior. It takes all types so options arent a bad thing.

Like X said, the MDX did not come until late 2000 as 2001 model year. I almost got it but the saleman did not deal so I got a 2002 4Runner Sport Edition instead.

There are a few nicer aftermarket wheels that I would like, but I would keep the RX pretty well as it is.
Cheers,

We will be getting a revised rx next year with the new Lexus spindle grill and yes I did see the sport version which front end looks like it is from the new sport gs. Also we will see new lx in the beginning of the year as a 13 with same front end treatment

After reviewing the F-Sport accessory list for the IS, I don't think there is anything on the list that I have an interest in owning. Even if Lexus was giving the stuff away, I wouldn't install it on my car. I would like to see any aftermarket products move in the other direction toward a quieter, nice ride quality. One of my biggest disappointments in the car is freeway ride quality now and I wouldn't want to further compromise it. The RX is not a performance vehicle ... anyone interested in performance should just get another vehicle.

RX F-Sport would be an awful idea. The truck is not quick, not sporty, and inherently not made to do these things. The truck was designed to do the exact opposite of be sporty.
To give an RX anything remotely near sporting nature:
The steering needs to get heavier with more feedback. The steering is light and lazy, which is fine for what it is, but certainly not sporty.
The truck needs a trans tune like the IS350, which shifts harder, holds gears better, has a tighter converter. The lazy trans in the RX is one of the things that pisses me off most about driving it. I use the gear selector a LOT just to get the damned thing to do anything near what I intend to with my right foot. I don't want to whack the throttle and wait 1.5 seconds while the car winds up to 5 grand and drops 3 gears when someone is about to rear end me.
The truck needs bigger/better vented brakes. I drive aggressively. I brake late into offramps and corners. I shouldn't drive like this, but I do. At 19k miles, all four rotors are very warped.
Obviously, the truck needs stiffer springs, shocks, and sways. But that's a given for any factory sport model. Those are easy fixes.
The AWD system is FWD 99% of the time. I wish it was mechanical 50/50 split like the last generation RX.
