The new frames are slightly larger but it's not that bad. It'll probably look better when the plates are on. I was thinking of maybe adding a little chrome to bling it up a little. The rear frame reminds me of those car commercials where the plate totally blends into the car.
Funny MEP. You're just jealous you only have one plate

From the web site , it looks like you have to get the front and the back as a kit?
I only need the rear - maybe someone would want to split the sale with me?
I have the starfire pearl color.
Let me know if any interest?

I hope to get the new frames on soon. It'll be tricky cutting new holes to match up with the existing ones in the bumper so they sit the right way.

Here are some pictures of the front frame mounted using the same holes for the bracket. I still have to drill the front and back frames so I can attach the plates. It's a work in slow progress

Kitlz,
Really nice pictures and good install. I actually have a brand new JDM Lexus license plate frames for IS that I bought some time ago when I visited the Lexus dealership in Tokyo area. But then I found out I need to drill the holes and so I gave it up. They are unused in the box.
I am about to put it to sale but your pictures make me ponder again. :P
For the price you paid, it is not too bad. The MSRP in Japan for your RX frame is 18900 yens which comes to US$246.

Andy, I feel your pain. I had, and still have, doubts that I can get the frames to work. The drilling part scares the bejeezus out of me considering how expensive they are. But I've waited too long to give up so quickly. The frames look cool. I'm sure yours do too. Good luck

Just wonder.. did you just lay the frames on some sort of table and and with some homework on the measurement, use a normal drill to create the holes, one at a time?
