Does the front windscreen have a heater element for de-misting in cold weather? Or is this not necessary ?

 

It depends on which country you live in....on the second generation it was standard but not so on 3rd gen. In Canada, it is standard equipment and either a separate button can be found down on the left lower instrument panel--where the power tailgate button is --or if you have navi - you have to go to the climate screen to activate it! I don't know about other countries but I believe I had this chat with someone in NY and there was no button!

To de-ice the front windsheild, just set your ventilation to the windshield during winter, it helps to de-ice it after the engine has warmed up.
