EV mode not avaiable

2011 RX450H

I tried to use the EV mode in my parking garage and "EV mode not available" message appeared. Does this mode only work once the car is warm?

This was from a cold start about 70 degrees.

yep! only when the engine is warm, and when the battery has more than 2 or 3 bars.
