Havent you guys learn anything from all the Toyota recalls, you are not suppose to stack those floor mats.
Your comment is well understood. However, this is our first time owning a Toyota product. Since we did not own a Toyota we did not really pay close attention to the news in the past years.

Sorry if I come off sounding condescending. Stacking floor mats in any make of car is dangerous. The top mat can shift and cause the gas pedal to get stuck.

X, I actually find the all weather mat is much more secure when placed on top of the carpeted one. I have the Lloyds which are thin. In fact I've been doing this for years without a problem. The RX is washed every week, including the driver side mat. I make sure the mat is properly hooked up. I'd be reticent to use mats that cannot be secured. And I do realize I am doing this at my own risk. I wouldn't if I felt there was potential for slipping

There is no advantage to stacking the mats except for saving time. If the all weather mats are hook in, they should be secure by itself.
Are you able to hook onto both mats with the floor hooks? If you can, then I would make sure the gas pedal have enough clearance.
They won't go over the carpet mats in the front/back you have to also remove the hooks for the carpet mats in the front (easy), the cargo liner does go over the carpet mat though.

The Lloyds fit tightly over the carpeted mat with the floor hooks. It's a struggle to get them loose. Now if I had only the Lloyds in there it would slide around. And the Lloyds do not cover the area under the gas pedal. I'll take a picture over the weekend so you can see the difference. I can assure you it's much safer this way.

Ahhh, you have the see thru mats, those are design to be on top of the carpeted mats, ultra thin, they should be fine. Its the thick all weather rubber mats that should not be place on top of the carpeted mats.
Well, I have to comment in regards to floor mats on Toyota, We have the 2002 Corolla S and out beloved 2003 Solara NEVER had any sort of problems that the reported ones have. We were totally surprised when reports about it started popping up. My friends has the 2004 Solara, 2006 4Runner and 2004 Camry and NEVER have any issues with floor mats affecting the accelerators.
So I'm sorry that I don't beleive all these floor mat problems and I believe it has something to do with the user on how it's placed or cleaned to where the mat has warped.
Thanks for posting. I actually like this color. My interior is parchment. I'm thinking of getting it. I'm curious how many RX owners have a black all weather mat with light interiors.
