Chalk it up to bad luck. These things happen and I dont think manufacturers can design a vehicle to be able to tackle all adverse conditions.

Honestly, with the RX being part time AWD, and with the OEM tires being all season, nobody expects the RX to be a snow champ, its a suburban cruiser more than anything. By the time the AWD system reacts to slipping, it will be too late.

Mike, I totaly agree with you. these tires are the reason, same thing happened to me 2wice. LOL it does spin like a joke for no apparent reason. I have been driving for accident free for 25 years in manitoba. have seen all kind of situations and have driven several kind of vehicles. I do understand black ice what every one else is talking about. I have seen what 360 degree spin is and have stayed on the road. no other tires have done this to me but this lexus had done it twice to me with factory michelins on it. funny thing is that it happenes with no warning and you are right that rest of the vehicles on the same road are just driving fine. i survived, but my son ran in to a ditch in some not to heavy rain ($16,000 damage). he was following behind me, i was on the same speed on my avalanche and that curve was easy to handle. same problem is with Honda accord factory tires and they are michelins too. the day i purchased my son's brand new honda accord, i replaced the tires with yokohama w drive. these are only tires which are winter tires but they are certified as all season too. they are made of a special material which doesnt freeze in the cold weather. we are very satisfied with those tires. they were about $700 us for 4 tires icluding instalation in the us. very quite too. now i ordered yokohama parada spec x for my rx 350 awd 19 inch from tirerack. cost me $1040 canadian (set of 4)landed at my place in canada, including all the duties and taxes. great tires. i would change the tires rather than complaining and save your self some headache. there is nothing wrong with the vehicle, i think.
