Nice! Maybe they should make this standard equipment for the car

Except the lamp in the light would need to be LED. Perhaps a wider range of color options for the hat.

The color of the hat will provide enough light to see the buttons...

Wonder if V-LEDS makes a bulb for that hat?

I too would like the homelink button lit. Before I get out of the car I like to close the garage door. Once my partner opens the passenger door I am unable to see the homelink buttons because the "dome" light is on and the light from that is in my eyes.

Sakura glown-n-dark paint marker won't give you "hat head". Find online at:

So do I. I also miss not having my sunglass holder. My sunglasses are now scratched up because I either put them in the cupholder or even up by the display screen. I've tried those little sunglass clip holders that you clip to the visor, but they're so flimsy and they break quickly.

I have to say I miss the sunglasses holder - I traded in a '00 RX300 and my other car is an '06 IS250. Both of them had the sunglasses holder and it seems silly that the SOS button takes up that spot now....it even looks like the cutout is there!

The old RX didn't have an illuminated homelink button, and I don't think the IS does either, but the location / shape of the buttons made them easy to find. On the RX450h its pretty easy to hit either the moonroof or domelight button rather than open the garage door. I'll probably look for a sticker solution of some sort....

On early 2010 builds, it was a sunglass holder. But after aug 2010, Lexus came out with enform/SOS so it took the place of that.

the RX330/350 had them illuminated.

I wonder how hard it would be to retro-fit it back to be a sunglasses holder. I don't plan on using / keeping the SOS/Enform functions....

Off to google / ebay

My wife has told me that I will be paying the Enform subscription after it runs out after the first year, that is the one feature she can't live without. When she drives into the Big Smoke for shopping or dining she'll get twisted around and call the mothership to get directions. So be it. Hopefully we'll never need the SOS feature but use it once and it will be worth the fee.

I honestly don't see how I would use Enform in the era of nav equipped vehicles and smartphones with google / google maps. I mean I 'get it' - the whole luxury concierge thing, but meh, its not for me. The only thing that is remotely interesting to me is the eDestination and being able to plan trips on my computer / smartphone, but even that's not even close to worth the monthly fee.

I can see some value in the SOS function, but honestly for the price of the car, that feature should be included in the price for more than 1 year.

I dont think ill be renewing when that time rolls around. With iphones and the nav, you really cant get lost this day an age. I guess its supposed to give you the concierge type feel

Keep in mind that you can renew the safety connect feature without the e-destination stuff for less money. The phone rep will not point that out.
