$350 for 15K Service???!!

stealership gets the name for reasons. If this makes you feel better, I have to pay $350 + tax (12%) for just an oil change on my BMW M3 once I am out of the 4yr/80k km schedule service program. Last time, my stealership quoted me $375 + tax to mount my winter tires on. I got it done at some other local shop for $120 tax in.

Also, many members here mention about doing be maintenance on their own. I wonder if anything goes wrong, will Lexus still honor the warranty. As for BMW, you are required to have all the service done if you want to retain the warranty. However, I did find the DIY section in the RX owner's manual. I assume Lexus is fine with us doing those minor works on our cars.

I just paid $68. for my 15k check. No oil and filter 'cuz it was done at 10k. They inspected and cleaned and torqued a bunch of stuff, rotated the tires, washed the car and mats and replaced the batteries in both keys (5.50 each). Not bad if you ask me. The 10k which included the oil and filter change was covered, so I don't know how much that costs but I'll find out in 5k miles.

My 20,000 mile service was $95.59 and throw in an oil change the total was $143.80. I also had an alignment done the same day and it was an additional $140.00 for that.
They have a check list which includes and shows the actual measurements of brakes and tires.
Quote:
4) Reset maintenance reminder light. This item need to be done at the dealer unless you want to buy a reset tool which is expensive. But who cares?

With navigation, no reset tool needed. It's a menu item and you can reset all the schedules by yourself. In addition, there is a couple of empty slots in the reminder list. I put our wedding anniversary in there...nice reminder of something I sometimes forget...oops!

No, I don't play soccer!
Real funny, David. I drive my RX every day, just not that much. And it was rinsed off but not washed this weekend because of the rain. The pollen was insane.
Regardless, I will be heading to the dealer for the 15K service in July. I checked their website, $320 ($350 for the 350). Wonder how much less it will be without the fob battery, cabin filter and wiper blade inserts changed considering it's done already. I'm sure my SA will make sure I don't pay that much. First service I pay for too.

Glad I paid for the NAV now WHERE THE F is this MENU? I have been searching for days! I am doing the 15k myself no need to pay $350 for tire rotation and cleaning the AC filter behind the glove box. It is just a clean at 15k replace at 30, I believe.
Thanks for the help.
Thanks for the help.
The actual Maintenance Menu is designed for other things, it's more of like a calender. The Maintenance Light, on the other hand, is preprogrammed into the car's ECU, I believe it lights up every 7k-10k miles.
The AC filter should be replaced every 16k miles, it really depends on how dirty it is. You'll figure it out once you take it out.

Mine is turning a year old this month and I have 6K on it. I too drive mine every day, obviously not that far. I changed my oil myself at 2K. Last time I was at the Dealership they said I had until 18 months to get the 10K oil change but to make sure it was less than 18 months. From here it will be changing the oil once a year unless I exceed 10K.

Just had the 15K service performed on my 2010 RX 350 AWD at South Bay Lexus in Torrance, Ca. The service was done under the 2010 Updated Maintenance Requirements schedule. The total charge was $67.99: 58.00 for labor, 9.10 for two Smart Key batteries, and .89 for tax.
