Default 9pm call from dealer

I got a late call today from the dealership i purchased my 10 RX. Offering me to get out of my current lease without penalty, and into 11 RX for the same 'or less'. Tomorrow, I will get more details. I'm not even 1/2 way through my lease, but I image the dealership should have no problem buying/selling the vehicle, especially if they get strong support from Lexus.

Just wanted to get it out there to see what everyone else thinks, or have a similar experience.

man lexus is really desperate for sales at the moment. Wonder if its partly because of the race with bmw and mercedes in sales figures, or because they want to move their vehicles off the lots.

its just a scam to get one more sale if you ask me.

Scam to get more numbers or not as the consumer why wouldn't you take advantage? If it works in your favor why not. To get into a new car for the same or better would be great.

Please keep us posted. We seem to have the same dealership... If this truly happens and they can provide the brand new RX11, wow, I'll take it...

i am pretty sure it's a race to sell more luxury cars compared to other brands by end of the year. i have seen / heard / noticed quite a few tactics by various brand dealerships

You're right,guys.

"Even BMW was surprised at Lexus’ comeback. “Toyota has been much more aggressive than they’ve ever been,” said Jim O’Donnell, President of BMW’s North America, “We’ve not got Lexus joining the fray where they’ve always stood on the sideline and sort of watched.” In the month of October, Lexus sold 21,091 units, Mercedes-Benz sold 18,351 and BMW sold 19,272. This puts year to date sales at Lexus: 183,529, Mercedes-Benz: 178,080 and BMW: 176,736. Looks like this one is going down to the wire. See you at the end of December!"

Update:

I went to dealership today for service and to go over the deal. It is real, they are looking to stock up on 2010 used RX inventory that is becoming of high demand. I had the deal 20/mo lower, with only bank fee and 1st month payment (plus usual fees), but unfortunately my RX was in accident, and shows on Carfax. This reduced resale by 2G, so the best they could offer was +30/mo from my current lease (same term and equipment).

I said no, thanks.

If anyone is interested, dealership is in Roslyn, Long Island.

Oh, and I got a service light reset at no cost, together with adjusting a soft parking brake, lubricating the squeaky gear shifter, and a car wash.

Unfortunately they cannot provide you the good deal. It's bad.

Btw, we had the same issues, LOL, the brake, the squeaky gear shifter, etc.

I dunno, an extra $1 a day to drive a new RX vs one that has been in an accident doesn't sound like a bad deal.

Im trying to work a deal now, for $3K under invoice. Dealer is being resistant. So I am calling around. Trying to get $42.5K car for $36K before TTL. Do you think I'll have any luck?

The damage was not big. Rear bumper and light. This did not play any part in the decision. I'd rather get a new car in two years.

LOL, a coincidence or a common issue?.. Just hope we don't share the accident part - an out of control sport bike hit my RX on 4th of July.

I'm surprised about the squeaky gear shifter. Mine is buttery smooth on my 2010, even more smooth than on my '07 RX. I was actually discussing this with my dad a couple of days ago about how what a high quality feel the gear shifter has!
