Default Wheels/Subs

Hello everyone.

I'm considering getting a kit for my rx350, and was wondering if anyone could ballpark me an installation cost for that kind of thing. Also, I've never had fancy wheels/rims on a car, and was considering that as well. How much for some decent looking ones? Maybe 20s? 20'' Vogue CV-7 chrome wheels I've seen, they look decent.

Do I need a new exhaust system with a new body kit?

Anyone know a good place to hide an amp?

Thanks in advance

you could take out the spare tire and put the amp there. where does Lexus install the ML amp?

installation of a kit would vary on a few factors:

1) quality of the kit (could cost more to install if fitment isnt that great)
2) shop rates. each shop charges different rates so it would vary.

wheels again vary on the brand you buy. some cost as little as a few hundred, some cost upwards to 6k. its all about what you like.

an exhaust system isnt really needed with a kit. if the cut outs for the rear work and look good with the stock exhaust, i would say no. if the cut outs are huge like for an aftermarket system, i would say yes because it may look weird. again its your choice on if you can live with it or not.

amp you can probably mount to the back of your back seat or in the spare tire well.

whatever kit you end up with, go with authentic and not knockoffs. authentic kits have good quality, better fit and finish, but are more expensive. get cheap kits, and you may spend more on labour just to get the kit to fit properly, and in the end may not look as good as the authentic kit. buyer beware.

exhaust system is not mandatory, but does complete the look. as mentioned above by jtrue28, you could hide your amp in the spare tire well (and get a can of fix a flat).

Thanks for the info guys. I did find a place to put the amp, and capacitor, so that should work out nicely. I'll post pics when I get everything in. Someone also suggested that I might not want to change wheels due to the effect it can have on the driving experience, and that I might want to consider instead getting some rims. From my understanding, they're just some fake stuff that goes over your current wheel. This true? If so, what do they cost, and could anyone recommend some brands etc?

So I am interested in the fortisimo forzato body kit, but cannot find a place to get it, anyone know? I just put a call into carson toyota, as suggested in the other thread, but have yet to hear back from them.

Thanks for any info!

what? getting some rims is the same as changing wheels is it not?
do not put fake wheel covers over your rims! that is a definite it is tacky as hell, and does not make your RX look good (it will look like crap).

if you are going to splurge $$$ on an authentic forzato body kit, go the extra mile and get it done right. go with a reputable jdm wheel like work, ssr, kranze, etc. look at how the japanese mod their RX in the body kit thread, that should give you an idea on how a properly modded RX should look.

nothing looks worse than going half way and have people laugh at you (look at that guy, he got a sick kit on, but his wheels belong on a ghetto civic...)
either mod properly (either all at once if you got big bucks, or in stages when cash flow is sufficient) or don't mod at all and keep it stock.

check the other thread again, i posted phone # and website link.
