OK, so I parked the car, went in the house and came out a few minutes later to find ALL of my windows open including the sunroof. How the heck could that have happened? Thank goodness the rainstorm had stopped.

 

If you hold down the unlock button on the keyless entry (remote) you can open all the windows.

 

yep, that's what happened. I personally think this is a useless option.

 

OK, that makes sense. I had the remote in my pocket and I was doing a lot of bending so I may have activated it by mistake. Is there a way to close the windows with the remote - maybe by holding down the lock button?? I'll try it later.

 

For my 01 RX300, only way to close is to put key into driver-side door lock and turn/hold toward lock position, windows and sunroof would close.

 

x2, I'm not sure about the newer RX's though. Give it a try and let us know.

 

ChitChat, you can have the dealer disable this option. It is supposedly optional but mine came programmed this way too. I actually like it. Now I don't keep the key fob in my pocket but I had something similar happen. The tailgate which can be opened with just one push of the button was wide open. Thankfully I had looked outside and saw it.

To close everything, take out the key in the key fob, insert in driver side door and turn left (for lock) and hold.
