Default RX 350 Bumpy ride

I recently bought a new RX 350 (with 19" wheels) and the ride seems to be very bumpy. I can feel the road and the drive does not feel like a lexus.

I took the RX to the dealer - they drove with me and said that nothing is wrong with the RX and the drive is more sportier than before, hence the reason that I can feel the road.

Are folks noticing similar issues?

There's likely your problem. Not that the 19" are that very low profile, but they're lower than the 18" obviously. Lower the profile = harsher the ride, inherent aspect of tires. When you test drove the RX, was it on 18's or 19's?

Probably the 18". I did not realize that 19" would be such a problem. This came with the Luxury package. I assumed that luxury = smooth ride. I thought wrong I guess.

Can I go back to the dealer to swap the 19" for 18"?

I'm not sure to be honest. I would say yes if you hadn't already taken the car off the lot. Speak with the manager, see if you can work something out.

If the dealer isn't going to do it, I believe someone may like to swap you their 18" for your 19".

Do you have the sport suspension? It may also contribute the harsh ride to you.

the 19s are just a much better looking rim design in general and are worth more so be sure to know that that is what you want.

Easiest thing to do now is check the tire pressure to see if it is overinflated, which might contribute to the harsh ride

yes - check tire pressure. We took delivery of our RX this past weekend and tires were overinflated by about 6lbs per tire. Car manufacturers typically over inflate the tires for shipping (especially ones that sit on a boat for weeks at a time). Dealer is supposed to set them properly prior to delivery - few ever do.

check the tire pressure like others have recommended and also ride should improve some after suspensions "break-in" after few thousand miles.

If you're in Mass, I would swap my 18 with your 19 :-)

Default Bumpy Ride

I had a similar issue with my 2010 Ultra Premium (Canadian for all options). Mine was made in Japan as are all Ultra Premiums this despite the fact that I live a little more than an hour from the Cambridge factory. Unfortunately all Japan sourced Canadian destined vehicles come equipped with those horrible Dunlop tires. I had them changed by Lexus for Michelins --the ride is much improved but still not as good as my 2004, 2006, 2008 were and my 2009 is!
Folks on here have complained about Canadian quality but I'll take it any day over my 2010 Japanese RX...There have been issues with it--including unsupportive seats that were changed out, the tires, and when I close the doors I can see the steel flex--not inspiring of a quality product.

You have found out like we have that this vehicle has anything but a
luxurious ride. Try this. Lay your head on the headrest and drive around
for awhile. Now count the times your head bangs up and down off the
headrest. It is most annoying. We plan on trading our RX in after we
THOROUGHLY test drive something else.

I was told by Lexus that they were aiming for a more BMW-type ride on their new RX...They must have their head in the sand because if I wanted a BMW-type ride - I would have bought another BMW--which I just traded for just that reason - I loved my 2004, 2006, 2008 RX and I assumed the new 2010 would ride the same as them and my current 2009 --wrong!! It appears like they are willing to discard their loyal following to attract those who would buy BMW --wrong!! Not going to happen!!

I had a '09 and the '10 rides so much smoother than the '09.
I do have 18"s.
