I am new to the community. I agreed with w4rjd. I have own three RX's, 1999 (purchased in 1998), 2008 and now 2010. We kept the 1998 for 10 years and 150,000 miles. That was the first model year and had few rattles, but overall a pleasant experience. 2008 was a different story. Driver's side front strut was replaced because of rust on the cap. Shortly after, I think the other strut was also replaced together with a bend tire rod. The Michelin tires only lasted 25,000 miles, plus numerous minor problems. My wife also stated sometimes when she pushed on the gas pedal, the vehicle hesitated before it finally picked up speed. The service department reprogrammed the transmission twice. They claimed they could not re-produce the problem. We don't drive cars with lead foot and the vehicle was never involved in an accident. We were so disappointed that we traded it in for a 2010. Almost immediately, we noticed that there were annoying "noise" when the vehicle went over rough surfaces. The cargo cover rattled. The rattling noise disappeared when we took off the cargo cover. We could hear that the driver's door did not close with a solid clunk, like most Lexus's should. Overall, we could feel that Lexus cut too many corners in this latest model. This will be the last Lexus we own.

I'm at 12000 miles on my 2010 and this is the best vehicle I have ever owned. The gas mileage is fine (20 in town and 25 on the highway) and the performance is great. It is quiet inside and the ride while it is not as smooth as my 2006 is still fine. The handling is better than the 2006 and it is quieter so the slightly stiffer ride is a good trade off. For such a relatively inexpensive vehicle, I can't think of anything I would rather have.

I am not liking the 2010 rear view mirror. It feels like it is very cheaply made. Sometimes I can hear it squeek and when I put my hand on it to move it, the plastic feels like it is about to break. The old lexus I had was equipped with a very sturdy feeling mirror.

I just purchased 2011 RX350 front wheel drive and worst Lexus ride I've ever had. My 02 ride was better the day I traded than new one they delivered. Have 19" wheel package and getting shimmy/vibration at 30-45 MPH. With less than 1000 miles on car, have been to dealer multiple times to find solution and no fix yet. I have read others complain about similar vibration. Have you or other members had similar problem, and if so, how was it fixed?

Yes, on our new 2011 RX 350 w/less than 1000 miles. Horrible drive quality. Wife will never have another Lexus RX after this. Still trying to get answers on why the problem.

so what did the dealer say when they handed the RX back to you?
have you tried driving the Loaner RX? and compare if you're having the same problem.
The loaners usually have the standard 18 inch alloy wheels..
that's the same kind i have on my 2011 and i never get any of the problems you're having now.

Our 2010 has exceeded our expectations. The ride is smooth and quiet. The acceleration, while not a sports car, is more than enough.
The seats are comfortable and the ventilation is nice during our South Texas summers.
About the only thing that I can complain about is the thin paint, but this is common to all Lexus models.
By far the best vehicle we've owned and we will definately stick with Lexus for a while. I'm looking at the IS250 for me.

Yes, I do. I purchased 2011 350 Lux Package less than a month ago and now 5 trips back to dealer and another to a tire consultant to try to ID why the car shudders/shimmy between 30-45 MPH. We've had tires and struts checked and dealer claims "no problem". Of the Lexus's I've owned, this is by far the worst quality I've owned. Top dollar price for a bumpy pick up truck like ride. Wife so frustrated she wants to dump it wtih 900 miles.

No matter what the temp is outside, the 'auto' selections keeps the interior close to the set temps regardless if you need heat in winter or A/C in warm weather.I never fuss with heat or A/C buttons.
However, when you need defrosting, you have to go to defrost and then back to 'auto'.
I've used that setting with many vehicles with climate control over the years.
