This is such the great service. My Lexus dealer won't be able to do this. So far only the Porsche dealer is willing to come to pick up my car...

Of course, there may be some others doing so...

Default 5,000 Mile Service

1. Inspect cabin air filter.
2. Inspect coolant, brake & washer fluid levels.
3. Inspect drive belts.
4. Inspect lights, horn & wipers for proper function.
5. Lubricate locks, latches & hinges.
6. Remove and inspect engine air filter element.
7. Replace engine oil & filter.
8. Road test.

Probably will need car for a couple of hours.

The newly-revised RX maint schedule removes oil & filter replacement from the 5k service - it's now at 10k miles. 5k service does include tire rotation. Just had 5k service last week and I was told they needed 45 minutes if I wanted to wait for it. Which I was unable to do so I picked it up later in the day.

Performed the 5000 mile service on Monday. The invoice says:
-Inspected engine oil and other fluids
-Adjusted tire pressure
-Rotated tires
-Measured brake pads and rotors thickness
-Performed LPSS at customer's request (no idea what this means)
-Reset Maintenance light
-Performed road test

Dropped car off at 10:30 and received a call around 12:30 to pick it up.

Do you know if this change from the 5 to 10 thousand oil change is related to oil type... ie with dino oil it's 5,000, synthetic 10.?

Yes, it's because of the shift to synthetic oil. Toyota has done the same with its Prius

LPS = Lexus Personalized Settings

The dealer will update these settings at no charge, if requested, at the 5k service.

Thanks for the explanation! Didn't request it, though. Probable a fairly standard entry.

Does anyone have the "new" Lexus 10K miles recommended maintenance chart showing the increased oil change interval?

If there is one, I'd like to show it to my dealer, as they have not been informed of this change by Lexus.
