Has anyone done the VAIS Technology VLine LED lighting mod on their 2010 RX? Was considering and wanted to know how it looked with the lights off - how streamline it was, if it didn't scream "add-on" too much.

 

It's too reminiscent of an audi

 

that screams aftermarket to me. plus its not really tastefully done. This is what lexus has on the 2010 LS as well as the upcoming CT200h.

This will debut this week at the Geneva autoshow, available in late 2010. It is unknown whether or not it will be sold in North America, but we will know more by this week.

 

I really thought about doing this mod. I stalked their website/forum for months waiting for it to be released

Unfortunately, after looking at the up close shots of the strips in the installation guide I decided against it.

The LED strip is attached with an adhesive strip to the head light housing and installation is pretty straight forward. But the LED strip is gray...if it was clear I might do it, but the gray will stick out way too much imo...

I was hoping it would be a plastic housing that would fit in between the headlight housing and the bumper, but oh well...

 

this VAIS led mod is just tacky. to get a real custom look, you need to crack open the headlight housing to install this and make it look oem. if it's just tacked on, you will look like an audi/mercedes wannabe.

 

Much agreed, I had the manual sent to me via email (which has pictures of it without the lights on) and it is fugly!

On another note, I would like to do a bulb swap for driving lights and fogs to to run a more uniform look, but don't know where to order nor what type.
