Heated Seats
The issue is we live in Minnesota. It gets very cold adn you need a lot of heat quickly. There are 3 settings. One should handle our needs. If you do not want as much heat set it lower. If you want more set it higher. Problem is neither myself or my wife can feel warmth much less hot at any setting.
With many temperature conditions it makes sense to be adjustable. Not selling heated seats that do not heat.

No, I don't play soccer!
No complaints from me. I've had them in my RX since '98. The seats definitely heat up way before the cabin. That's important now with the hybrid. I wouldn't want it to be hotter because IMO it would get uncomfortable. I set it and forget it.

The original RX heated up and got the hottest. I had the hybrid on the second generation and it heated up quickly but my sons complained that they weren't as hot. The third generation heats more subtlety!

After reading the above comments it is apparent Lexus has made a change in heat output. My 2000 RX300 had great heated seats. They warmed quickly and were plenty hot. Our new 2010 RX350 appears to be of lower quality. The issue for today is weak heat output from the heated seats. We feel that they do not work as we cannot feel any change from off to on and at all 3 settings. Recognizing we all are different, and in different weather conditions they need to have more adjustment to satisfy everyone.
To me you should have the ability and common sense to select your desired heat level. Does anyone have contacts at Lexus to get some action. We really like the dealer we have used for over 10 years. This is our second new Lexus, but is is not as good as the first.

to the OP, if you seriously dont feel anything at all from the heated seats even at level 3 then there is defect in your heated seats. There should be significant heat output.
to sweet, ventilated seats dont actually blow air into your rear, it actually sucks cabin air down to ventilate the seat. You should not feel anything significant at all, but it will prevent your back and pants from being wet from sweat in the summer heat

The Lexus dealer tested and found "TESTED SEAT HEATERS. DRIVERS & PASSENGERS SEAT 86.5 DEGREES. COMPARED TO LOANER"
When dealing with water, warm is considered to be 98 to 100 degrees. The temp for a baby's bath is right at that point. Not hot and not cold. Heated seats should be at least baby's bath warm. Not 12 degrees colder.

Heat/Ventilated Seats. Why do we have them and do they work. To me the answer is in parts. Heated is to help make it comfortable quickly and then shut off so you normal body heat can take over. Cooling on the other hand is to help ventilate the seat helping to remove the normal build up of heat from your body to the leather that traps that heat on the seat.
Leather versus cloth seats has always been an issue for me. Cloth is warmer in winter and normally more of an open weave so it breaths in the summer. So it is cooler. Properly adding heat or ventilation to leather seats levels that field and lets the luxury of leather retake first in our hearts. If Lexus stands for Luxury then it should be tat for the owner, user, not the manufacturer. They should perform to the standards we want.

^Fabric seats is an option for lexus but back then, when I ask for one on build, they said it may take more than 4 months due to the situation in japan. I don't know how it is now, but it is offered when buidling one.
I personally prefer fabric due to it's breathing material and they last longer than leather.
