Default What should Lexus improve on the 2010 RX?

I think the power plugs in the front console are in a lousy place and difficult to use. I also can't understand why they didn't put a power plug in the rear of the vehicle as well like most other SUVs. Anyone have kids that need to charge their handheld gaming systems on trips?

Needs a back button on the mouse
Needs illumination of garage door, moon roof buttons
Would like 3rd row seat option
Too many controls are split between the dash and screen.
Armrest needs to open more to use too deep storage area
Ugly engine cover
Could use direct injection v6 from IS for better gas

Some possible improvements,
Parking brake should be released automatically when put into gear
Outside mirrors should move to storage position and back out to operational position with the push of a button
Heated steering wheel
Rear seats should have heat option
Heated/Cooling seat controls should be more accessible, awkward to get to.
Black interior should be available with a white exterior
Definitely agree with garfull more illumination of garage door, moon roof buttons
IPOD plug should be more accessible
More 12 volt receptacles should be available - agree with Mdkellys– 2 in backseat area
Oh yeah, lower air dam modified.

direct injection should be a no brainer... I can't believe that Lexus isn't moving all their vehicles to this technology with each redesign. It looked like they were with the LS, IS and GS until the GS460. Not sure why they left out the ES, RX, GX and LX.
LS460 yes
IS350 yes
ES350 no
GS350 yes
ISF yes
GS460 no
RX350 no
RX450H no
GX460 no

a couple of things i'd want to see:

1) illuminated rear door sills. it's silly to just have front illuminated door sills and not the rear. i mean, the 2nd gen RX400h had illuminated front and rear sills. why can't the RX450h have it too?

2) panoramic moon roof - it's available in japan/middle east, but not in north america?!?

3) air suspension - same comment as in #2 above

some of the above can be addressed with the proper packages, like the electrical plug, and the power folding side view mirrors.

I would also like to see:

electronic parking brake
electronic shifter/stalk (like Mercedes and bmw)
power folding 2nd row
Lane Keep Assist
Blind Spot Warning System
Pre-collision system that will actually brake itself without driver imput

Power folding mirrors is part of the Luxury package, which has to be a special order. AC outlet is part of the RSES.

I would like to see RDS without going into the navi screen(like in Gen2 RX).
Rear illuminated scuff plate(like in Gen2 RX)
Heated steering wheel
Remote starts that works
All around cameras like in Infiniti EX35
Dual view nav screen like in Range Rover
For some reason air suspension never made here on our NA version.

I still think a $47,000 vehicle should come with two power outlets in the back standard. Lexus shouldn't nickel and dime its customers with little packages to get things that should come standard.

I think some options here are already covered in other options:
- power folding mirrors are part of Luxury Pkg
- could get 110-v outlet in back of center console for the kids.

Things I would like to see either be fixed or offered in the US:
- air suspension
- illumination of overhead console buttons
- RS remote really should have greater range and be 2-way with feedback.
- lower grille should come with a better factory protection.
- roof rack should be slimmer and more airodynamic like on the new GX for less windnoise. The crossbar distance is marginal large enough on the current RX for a ski rack to clear bindings.
- heated steering wheel
- heated and cooled rear seats absolutely should not be overlooked.
- placement of 12-v outlet needs to be more accessible, difficult to get to.
- add memory seats to the passenger seat too, not only the drivers seat (had it in the IS, don't see why the RX didn't have it)

and continue to decrease noises entering cabin, could never be too quiet.

A place to put my sunglasses. My '01 Highlander had a ceiling compartment that was handy.

How about showing the entire artist and song information on the Sirius/XM display? Seems to be truncating it at some arbitrary point, while there's still room in the display field. What's up with that?

This is my biggest complaint too. Pay big $$$ & can not get all the info available. Second compaint is no keyless start button.

All Lexus need a better paint finish that doesn't scratch so easily.

true, but the ceiling compartment for sunglasses is a bit on the small side. it will only fit small or compact frames, not the slightly larger ones.

i recall hearing or reading somewhere that the LS (current gen or next gen?) will have a self healing paint for light scratches. here's hoping that this new feature/technology will filter down the lexus line...
